Shelly Park School is a Decile 10 Primary School (Years 1 – 6).
I am proud to be the third Principal of Shelly Park School. Here at SPS we work co-operatively to provide opportunities for learners to build their sense of identity, to become resilient, self-reliant, critical and creative thinkers, to be team players, to learn to use initiative and engage in on-going learning throughout their lives. When students leave Shelly Park our aim is that they have grown into confident, caring, connected community contributors.
The school was opened in 1979 and sits in the heart of the Shelly Park community. It is close to amazing beaches, beautiful bush walks but not far away from Botany Town Centre. The school has seen significant growth but still has the feel of a rural school tucked away in an urban area. The community is proud of the school and there are incredibly dedicated parents involved in the PTA and BoT. School events such as galas, colour runs and productions are keenly supported. Athletic, swimming and cross country days involve the whole school and all students are encouraged to participate and be the best they can be.
Our school curriculum caters for all learners. Reading, writing and maths are the cornerstones and through careful grouping and differentiation, student’s make progress through hard work and support from their teachers and peers. Shelly Park values physical activity and sport and encourages all students to participate and take risks by giving new experience a go. The arts, music and integrated studies are led with enthusiasm and expertise to allow our students to find success in all areas of the curriculum.
Shelly Park is a wonderful place where student’s needs and ambitions are understood and catered for. Welcome to our school. When we work together, we succeed.
