Seeking your support for an exciting Sport and Education Space

SPS Outdoor Sport & Education Centre

Shelly Park School is a community, family-oriented school and recognised as a school of choice in an area that is experiencing growth. It has an ethnically diverse population of around 500 students and close to 50 teaching staff, many of whom have been teaching at Shelly Park School for over 15 years. The school has a commitment to developing children, intellectually, mentally, emotionally and physically. The school achieves great success within our region and consistently “punches above its weight”.

The students of this school move on to the increasingly popular schools of choice in the local area being Somerville Intermediate and ultimately Howick College. Shelly Park Primary School is a key cornerstone of the local Shelly Park/Cockle Bay/Howick education community and is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.

Shelly Park Primary School’s motto is “Working together to succeed” and with this in mind is always looking for opportunities to enable collaborative working and learning spaces that help our children develop and grow.

Shelly Park School has for some time been investigating opportunities to redevelop their existing outdoor court area into a modern, fit for purpose, all-weather Outdoor Sport and Education Centre.

Over the last year, the school has been in a financial position to commit time and resources to the planning of this exciting project. A team of school staff, Board of Trustees and parent volunteers have driven this process from an idea to a developed design and has recently been granted building consent for this Outdoor Sports and Education facility.

The school is now inviting parents, friends of the school and the wider Shelly Park community to consider whether they may be able to support this project. If you are an individual or a local business that is interested and able to support this exciting project through some form of sponsorship, please get in touch with us. There will be opportunities to support this project as we get into the actual construction phase itself (anticipated early 2020 onwards).
